Children's Ministry
These are the future of the church and of the Nation.The children ministry gives them a fresh start on a better life, while offering a new beginning in Christ. The ministry comprises of children between ages 0-13
The children’s ministry exists to help those in our care know God and grow to become like His Son, Jesus Christ.
Our mission Statements:
1. To fill children’s minds with the Word of God so they will grow to think the way God thinks and live the way God has commanded. ( Proverbs 22:6)
2. To establish in children habits of godly
living as a daily lifestyle. ( Hebrews 13:21)
3. To create a Christian Community of children and adults who enjoy life together as a family and who are committed to Jesus Christ and to each other. (3 John 1:4)
4. To help children build proper relationships to the authorities in their lives.
(Ephesians 6:1-3)
5. To help children trust Christ as Savior, to submit to Him and to live as Christian’s at home, at school, at play or wherever they are. ( Matthew 19:14)
6. To build Christian homes by encouraging families and training them in their tasks.
(3 John 1:4)
7. To make each child’s experience at church safe, fun and profitable in the process of growing to become everything God has planned. (Philippians 1:6, Hebrews 10:25)
8. To instruct, encourage and help guide them into freely worshiping and praising our Lord Jesus Christ. (1 Chronicles 16:9)
Objectives and Functions:
Minister and take proper care of the children of the Church.
Develop a system of tracking and follow-up of the children so that we can evaluate their developmental progress.
Maintain ongoing correspondence with parents of the children through periodical meetings, mailings to keep them abreast of the direction children ministry are heading to.
Organize and manage the children church.
Use diverse methodology and teaching aids to minister and teach the children.
Plan various activities to minister to the children of the Church.
Organize Christmas Party, Children Day Party and other occasional and festive outings for the children.
Prepare and present the children for special presentation and ministration in the church and outside the church.
Train personnel for the development and enlargement of the Children Ministry of the Church.
Attend, support and enlist our children and their teachers and be part of church community.
Create and maintain a safe environment for children which includes; reporting abuse, the screening and supervision of workers, the implementation of safety drills and procedures for example fire drills, AIDs policy etc.
Develop programme for the children covering:
Teaching sessions for age groups.
Organize recreational activities and fun.
Summer activities and children conventions.
Ensure that children workers seek personal contact with children in the church and provide personal ministry to those who have special needs.
